Bangalore property owners, ready to pay BBMP for “fees” of solid waste management

Solid waste management fees will be determined by the construction area of ANI’s residential property.
For properties up to 600 sq ft, residents pay Rs 10 per month; from 600-1,000 sq ft, Rs 50 per month; from 2,000-3,000 sq ft, Rs 150 per month for floor area of 2,000-3,000 sq ft; from 3,000-4,000 sq ft per month; from 3,000-4,000 sq ft per month; and finally, Rs 400 per month is above 4,000 sq ft.
The plan, announced on Saturday in the municipal agency’s budget, proposes charging solid waste management user fees and property taxes for 2025-26.
The BBMP budget prepared approximately Rs 199,300 crore under the concept of “Bangaluru Brand”, an increase of nearly 50% over the previous fiscal year.
In a series of measures to develop ‘Nama Bangalore’, Rs 400 million will be invested to integrate multiple services into the BBMP One application, covering property taxes, commercial licenses, waste management and other citizen services. AI-powered security city cameras will monitor illegal buildings, potholes and improper waste disposal.
