Both the TDP and the JANA SENA Party (JSP) will approve the WAQF (Amendment) bill in Parliament on Wednesday (2 April 2025). The two parties have 18 MPs in Lok Sabha (LS) (TDP-16 and JSP-two). The remaining three Congressional members will support the bill. Therefore, the NDA can rely on 21 members of parliament in the LS to propose controversial legislation.

As far as TDP is concerned, according to the TDP floor leader of TDP Sri Krishna Devarayalu, in the case of TDP, it proposed six amendments to the draft, including four supplements.

As part of the NDA led by the BJP, the TDP will not be able to cause discordant notes, so Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is biased towards the bill, which is a defined conclusion.

Meanwhile, JSP President and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan expressed confidence that the WAQF (Amendment) bill will benefit the Muslim community.

He noted that the 31-member JPC had thoroughly studied the bill and insisted that the WAQF bill in the UK era must be amended according to current requirements. To summarize, both TDP and JSP will vote for the WAKF (Amendment) Act 2024, despite the concerns that may be raised internally.
