More than 250 Virgin Atlantic passengers are stuck in Türkiye; airlines explore options to fly them to Mumbai

Mumbai, April 3 (PTI) (more than 250 virgin Atlantic passengers including Indians) were trapped in a Turkey airport for more than 24 hours, and its Mumbai boarding plane from London was transferred to Diyarbakır Airport.
Virgin Atlantic said on Thursday it is exploring all options, including operating alternative aircraft, to drive passengers to Mumbai.
Flight VS358 from London Heathrow to Mumbai was cancelled due to emergency medical transfer to Diyarbakır Airport in Turkey.
After landing at the airport, the plane encountered technical problems.
The airline apologizes for the inconvenience caused by passengers and its engineers are continuing to conduct a thorough assessment of the aircraft.
“We are actively exploring all options, including alternative aircraft operations, to ensure customers can arrive in Mumbai as soon as possible,” it said.
More than 250 passengers were trapped in the airport. Sources said an A350-1,000 aircraft is operating the flight, which has more than 300 seats.
On Thursday, a user X posted on social media platform included more than 300 Indians and British citizens trapped in Turkey in a horrible situation.
User Hanuman Dass said his family was the ones stranded there.
“Help people in nothing, one person has 300 people in the toilet and lasts for 15 hours in a confined space. @virginatlantic staff is nowhere to be seen. My family was caught up.”
He said in another article that the passengers had no information and it had been 27 hours since leaving London.
