Governor to Karnataka government. One month deadline for appointing vice president of RDPR University

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot sent a stern message to the Karnataka government, setting a one-month deadline to invite applications to fill the position of vacant vice-chancellor at Mahatma Gandhi Carry Development & Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Raj (RDPR) in Gadag, North Karnataka. He warned that if the government fails to do so, he will start the process by himself.

The Karnataka Congress Government held a meeting in Bellagarve in December 2024 to pass the Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University (Amendment) Act, which aims to appoint the Chief Minister as Prime Minister and give him the Vice-Chancellor of the Three Names proposed from the Search Committee, and the Vice-Chancellor of the Three Names proposed from the Search Committee.

However, Mr. Gallot returned to the bill, which was passed in December 2024, seeking clarification and corrections regarding the intent of the bill.

Comply with existing laws

Mr. Gallott said in a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah that the Vice-Chancellor must be appointed under the existing law before the bill is cleared. He further said that Raj Bhavan sent “numerous follow-up reminders” to the RDPR department to invite applications to apply for open positions, but to no avail. He noted that the position had been vacant for 10 months.

The Governor’s letter quoted ministers’ statement that the government hoped to actively improve the university’s government by amending the RDPR University Act, but it was clear that neither the relevant ministers nor the departments took positive measures to grow the university. ”

“Sleepy and Indifference”

The governor blames the relevant departments for their responsibility, and despite repeated recommendations to appeal for application, the lethargy and indifference to the welfare of students is in stark contrast to the glorious phantoms shown in the media.

In the letter, Mr. Gallot asked Mr. Sidalamaya to direct the earliest RDPR department to call for application, “Do not leave room for unnecessary and avoidable complications that will affect the growth of Karnataka University.”
