Mumbai Indian head coach Mahela Jayawardene praised Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness, saying “He returns with……”

Bumrah rejoined the MI squad on Saturday after receiving approval from the BCCI Centre of Excellence (formerly the National Cricket Academy). He hit the batsman for the first time in three months.

Jasprit Bumrah made a much-anticipated return to competitive cricket, bowling at full intensity and showing no signs of discomfort during the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) 12-run loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Head coach Mahela Jayawardene was satisfied with the pacer’s performance, noting that Bumrah executed his plans well in his First according to Espncricinfo’s New Year Test since the game.

“After the game, I was just talking to him and he looked good,” Espncricinfo quoted Jayawardene as saying.

He added: “He was disappointed, too. When he came back, he wanted to win. But other than that, he looked good. I think the pace is starting and the execution is good.”

Bumrah rejoined the MI squad on Saturday after receiving approval from the BCCI Centre of Excellence (formerly the National Cricket Academy). He hit the batsman for the first time in three months.

As Espncricinfo quoted, Jayawadin said: “I think we have two swing bowlers and we need to give them this opportunity first.”

“Prosperous” [Bumrah] Back from three months of layoffs. So we just wanted him to relax, but he played well and he had good control over things. The more he started playing, [getting] He will enter it when the game time. ” he said.

He added: “The last time he went to the Test match, he suddenly played T20. So we need to understand. The skills are great, T, but we have some areas that need improvement.”

Despite returning from a long layoff, Bumrah issued a constitutive spell that ended at 0/29 in his four matches. He played one in every stage of the inning – power play, midfielder and two deaths – the most economical bowler on both sides. Although MI has lost 52 times in the last four games, Bumrah has spent only 14 times in both bases during this period. Throughout the spell, he was hit by only two boundaries, both of which were six boundaries.

“[Having Bumrah back] As Jayawardene quoted by Espncricinfo, Jayawardene said.

He added: “Yesterday was his first day bowling for the batsman. That confidence is something we lacked in the last few games. We also have that confidence, but we just have to put all these pieces together and perform a good game to get us full of confidence so we can keep moving forward.”

Mi chose the bowl first, and Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar shared the new ball. After the RCB has reached 33/1, Bumrah is introduced for the fourth time. His presence adds much needed control, even if that’s not enough to stop RCB from releasing 221/5, and this total ultimately proves the impact of MI.

As Espncricinfo cites, “Obviously, the NCA has a program that must be passed, performs all fitness tests and makes sure he is in good condition.”

He added: “This applies to all Indian Central Indentury players. Once he went through five and six good meetings, everything was cleared. The only thing he lacked was the game time. He was not actively playing.”

He noted: “This is something he worked with us yesterday in the case of the Nets’ execution. Experience, the skills you see today are very good. He played some good players and probably had two or three bad balls in that spell. I’m very happy with that.”

Despite MI’s fourth defeat in five matches, Bumrah’s return to action is one of the few motivations, not only MI, but also Indian cricket before the busy calendar.
