Mumbai Indian head coach Mahela Jayawardene praised Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness, saying “He returns with……”

Jasprit Bumrah made a much-anticipated return to competitive cricket, bowling at full intensity and showing no signs of discomfort during the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) 12-run loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Head coach Mahela Jayawardene was satisfied with the pacer’s performance, noting that Bumrah executed his plans well in his First according to Espncricinfo’s New Year Test since the game.

He noted: “This is something he worked with us yesterday in the case of the Nets’ execution. Experience, the skills you see today are very good. He played some good players and probably had two or three bad balls in that spell. I’m very happy with that.”
Despite MI’s fourth defeat in five matches, Bumrah’s return to action is one of the few motivations, not only MI, but also Indian cricket before the busy calendar.
