US-China Trade War: “Trump should expel XI’s daughter”: As the US-China Trade War escalates, Margo calls for suppression of Chinese students

A full-scale trade war with China and the United States is in the forefront of a trade war after President Donald Trump imposed more than 100% tariffs on Chinese goods imports. China said it would “end” rather than coercion as it sees and raise its tariffs on U.S. goods from 34% to 84% in response to the latest move by the White House.

At a time when trade tensions between the United States and China seem to escalate, supporters of Donald Trump call for a crackdown on Chinese students studying in Chinese universities. Several international college students have been taken away by immigration agents in recent weeks or questioned their legal status. The Trump administration targets students protesting the Gaza war, whether those with visas or those with permanent legal status.

Maga promotes suppression of Chinese students

Over the past few days, the Trump administration has intensified crackdown on students linked to Israeli protests, who shocked campuses and universities last year. In March, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States had revoked visas to at least 300 foreign students as part of President Donald Trump’s efforts to cut pro-Palestinian protesters on university campuses.

The Trump administration is taking strict action against international students who have expressed support for Palestinians. The report shows that many students who have no connection to campus activism have lost their visas. Chinese students are trapped in the crosshairs of political conflict and are concerned about wars against tariffs.

Amid rising geopolitical tensions, far-right American activist Laura Loomer has stepped up attacks on China on social media platforms. She said Trump should deport XI Jinping’s daughter from the United States.
“Hopefully we can start revoking Chinese student visas to teach China a lesson. Send them back,” Loomer said. Although Laura Loomer is primarily seen as a conspiracy theorist, she was recently fired several staff members of the National Security Council.
“If Xi Jinping intends to play games with President Trump, then @realdonaldtrump should expel Xi’s daughter, who studied at Harvard and lives in the United States,” Loomer wrote in a social media post.

A few years ago, reports showed that Xi Jinping, the only daughter of Chinese President Xi Jinping, lived in the United States and studied at Harvard University. However, these claims were never formally confirmed.

In 2022, former U.S. representative and Republican leader Vicky Hartzler attracted renewed attention to the matter while introducing “protecting higher education from the Chinese Communist Party Act.” According to reports, Xi Jinping first arrived in the United States in 2010 and was admitted under a pseudonym, and few people realized her existence until 2012. The unverified account later suggested she return to China, but could return to the United States again in 2019.

Trump suppresses protesters

Trump officials said they are using the Immigration and Nationality Act, which allows the State Department to expel non-citizens “a confrontation with the U.S. foreign policy and national security interests.”

The arrests are part of Trump’s pledge to combat the administration’s classification as anti-Semitism, which was written as an executive order in January. Since then, the White House has also withdrawn $400 million (£308 million) of Columbia funds, the university has failed to fight anti-Semitism on its campus and threatened to do the same with other universities.
