Delhi court sends Tahawwur Rana to 18 days of NIA custody

New Delhi: The Delhi court dispatched a terrorist attack on Mumbai on Friday, accusing Tahawwur Hussain Rana of 18 days of custody of Nya. Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) Judge Chander Jit Singh sent Rana to detain Nia for 20 days of detention.

Late Thursday night, Rana was taken to Patiala House Court, which included a prison van, an armored SWAT car and an ambulance.

The 64-year-old Pakistani-Origin Canadian businessman, a close assistant to the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack, was a major conspirator David Coleman Headley, alias Daood Gilani, a U.S. citizen, and on April 4, the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed his review lawsuit.

Sources said the NIA has been seeking Rana’s 20-day detention to interrogate him, citing evidence from various emails.

The agency told the court that Lana’s trial was necessary to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the 2008 attack.

It also told the court that it had to investigate his role as the planner of the attack.

The NIA said it was charged as part of the criminal conspiracy. 1. David Coleman Headley discussed the entire operation with Rana before visiting India.

The NIA told the court that Headley’s expected challenge was that Headley sent a email to Rana and detailed his property and assets, adding that Headley also informed Rana of the involvement of Pakistani nationals Ilyas Kashmiri and Abdur Rehman, who were also charged in the case.

Senior advocate Dayan Krishnan and Special Attorney Narender Mann represent the NIA.

Before the lawsuit, the judge asked Lana if she had a lawyer.

After Lana said he had no lawyer, the judge told him that the Delhi Legal Services Bureau provided him with a lawyer.

Afterwards, advocate Piyush Sachdeva was appointed to represent him.

Before taking Rana to Patiala House Court, Delhi police evacuated media people and the public from the complex on the grounds of security issues.

“No one inside will be allowed,” police authorities said.

Rana is accused of conspiring with Headley, designated terrorist groups Lashkar-e-taiba (Let) and Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami (Huji) and other Pakistan-based accomplices to carry out a three-day terrorist attack on Indian financial capital.

On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Pakistani terrorists rushed into India’s financial capital using sea routes in the Arabian Sea, and coordinated attacks on the railway station, two luxury hotels and a Jewish center.

As many as 166 people were killed in nearly 60 hours of attack.
