Kolkata HC orders central troops to be deployed in violent attacks on Murhidabad

The court said the guidance was not limited to the Mexidabad area, but “it should be extended to other areas facing similar situations when needed” and that central forces could be deployed immediately to arrest the situation and bring about normal situations.
A branch judge chaired by Justice Soumen Sen said: “We cannot turn a blind eye to the various reports that surfaced, which ostensibly demonstrated intentional destruction in several areas of West Bengal.”
The court noted that in addition to Murshidabad, incidents were reported in Amtala and Champdani in Hooghly, at the North Parganas district, 24 North Parganas.
The central troops will “cooperate” with the national government, the judge directed.
“The Constitutional Court cannot be a silent bystander, and when the safety of the people is at risk, the Constitution’s audience can itself be involved in the technical defense,” the bench also included Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury.
“Earlier deployment of the central armed forces may have made the situation even more gradual, as there seems to be no timely measures taken,” the court said.
The court held that the situation was serious and turbulent and that action must be taken against the culprits to arrest atrocities committed against innocent citizens in the war.
The court insists that the court’s duty is to protect citizens, he says everyone has the right to life and the state’s responsibility is to ensure the protection of every citizen’s life and property.
The substitute observed that there is no denying that violence is frequent among communities in different parts of West Bengal, and to this day, a prevalent situation prevails. ”
The court also directed the state government to submit detailed reports on the situation.
The matter is scheduled to be held on April 17.
The Chief Justice formed a special judge composed of Justices Soumen Sen and Raja Basu Chowdhury, eagerly heard a petition filed by West Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari, seeking the deployment of central forces in the region.
The state lawyer told the court that six BSF companies have been deployed in the impact atoms, the Samserganj area of Dhuliyan and Murshidabad.
However, Adhikari’s lawyers claimed that BSF personnel were not properly deployed to control the situation.
Given the urgency of this situation, the petition was heard on the bench during Saturday’s court holiday.
His lawyer, Soumya Majumdar, believes that the center of the riots is the border area of Murshidabad, from there escalating to other parts of the state, which has targeted a specific community during the protests against the WAQF (Amendment) bill.
The petitioner also prayed for the National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) to investigate violence and arson in Merhidabad.
Senior defense attorney Kalyan Banerjee appeared in the state and filed a situation in court where the situation was under control and that the state police are fully dealing with the situation.
In his prayers against Adhikari, he said that senior officials and a large number of police forces were deployed in the affected areas.
He further claimed that the petition was politically motivated and politically motivated since Adhikari and another were allegiance to the opposition.
