Governments want to publish labor code manuals for workers and employers to promote broader awareness

New Delhi: In an effort to connect with grass-roots workers and employers at the bottom of the pyramid, the government will soon publish a manual outlining the key provisions of four labor regulations and their impact on employees and employers.

People familiar with this development told ET that the Minister of Labor and Employment has appointed Rashtriya Swayam Sevak with affiliated trade union Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) as the labour code for your labour code for attitude workers and the Federation of Industry of India (CII) (CII) for employers to develop.

The two manuals, known as Bluebook, will outline the key benefits of the labour codes of employees and employers, respectively, while highlighting the controversial provisions in the code that require adjustments to their smooth implementation. The move will serve the twin targets based on one of the people who do not want to be identified.
First, it will help to raise awareness of the pros and cons of the code. Second, since the two manuals will explicitly mention certain controversial provisions to employees and employers, they will help the government make the necessary modifications to avoid strong opposition when it is launched.

Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh President Hiranmay Pandya said BMS supports codes for wage and social security regulations, as both will bring huge benefits to workers.

Ten central trade unions except BMS have requested the abolition of these four labor regulations.
