Xi Jinping said before SE Asia tour, tariff news update live broadcast: Trade protectionism has nowhere

Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday that as trade tensions with the United States escalate, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for stronger industrial and supply chain cooperation with Vietnam, as well as broader cooperation in emerging areas. Xi Jinping will start his state visit to Vietnam this week from April 14 to 15. His visit is amid China’s search for strengthening its economic partnership with its neighbors, while facing increased tariff pressure from the United States.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an article published in Vietnamese media, Xi Jinping also stressed the need to promote coordination through regional frameworks such as East Asia cooperation and Lancai-Man and Gangban cooperation.
