A van on the Peenya flyover caught fire after a short circuit in the battery case Thursday afternoon.
The truck driver and his assistant stopped the vehicle and jumped to safety after noticing the fire. Police said no one was injured.
Traffic flow on the overpass was destroyed for some time. However, traffic police from Yeshwanthpura arrived at the scene and stopped traffic on one side and diverted traffic under the overpass. Fire and emergency service personnel arrived at the scene and put out the fire.
