Did the birds steal gold and jewelry to make nests? Know the truth behind the viral video

Some users claim that store owners have increased security around the tree to prevent losses.
Recently, a video has been a hit on social media, with two birds sitting in a nest made of gold jewelry. Several users shared videos claiming that the birds stole more than 1 kilogram of gold jewelry from three stores on the High Court Road in Bangalore to build the nest. The claim further states that when jewelers find nests, they decide that gold can only be restored after the young birds hatch. The user also said that store owners have improved security around the tree to prevent further losses. X user shared the video, “The birds stole a kilogram of gold from three jewelry stores to build nests on the Bangalore High Court Road. Because they can only recover the gold after the birds hatch, the jewelry store owners clutched the safety near the tree.”
Fact check
First, we ran the video through the Invid tool to extract the keyframe from the viral video. We then searched for a keyframe with Google Lens, which revealed that multiple other social media users shared the same video with similar claims. Check here and here. We also found the PTI report, which analyzed the same video. Analysis shows that the video is AI-generated because its visual effects look too smooth and even. The report pointed out that the PTI station plays videos through the AI detection tool Hive Mediation. The results show a total score of 92%, indicating that the video is likely to be AI-generated. In short, we can say that the video is AI-generated and has been shared with the false claims.
