Police said on Sunday that a 19-year-old Dalit young man from the Sika district of Rajasthan claimed he was beaten, urinated and sexually assaulted by two men. “We have registered an institution in this matter. The victim was medically examined and his statement was recorded. The matter is being investigated.”

He said registrations were made under the planned caste and planned tribes (Absurdance) Act. According to the complaint, the young man watched the wedding parade in his village on April 8, when the two asked him to go to a bus stall using some work as an excuse.

The complaint said the two then took him to a secluded location and hit him, including his private parts, forcing him to take off his clothes and have an unnatural sex on him.

“They got drunk. They hit me with the bottle, urinated with the bottle, slandered with caste,” the victim said. He added that if he told anyone, the defendant also recorded videos of their behavior and “threatened” to share it on social media.

According to the complainant, the defendant intends to harm his father who is currently abroad. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and opposition leader Tika Ram Jully targeted the government of the incident, saying it had exposed the actual legal and order situation in the state.

“The trauma is so severe that young people cannot register for eight days,” Gallot said. “This is the reality of Rajasthan today. Dalit youths are kidnapped, beaten, sodomized, urinated and threatened. It’s not the film industry, it’s a shameful reality.”
