A man was imprisoned for five years for theft

A district court here has sentenced a man to five years in prison and sentenced him to Rs 5,000 in the theft case.
The press release here says the defendant Mallappa broke into a house in Chandrashekar, a colony of Siddheshwar, on December 22 and stood out with five grams of gold ornaments, 30 grams of silver ornaments and 3,000 rupees of cash.
The case was thoroughly investigated by then-deputy deputy chief Geeta Benal’s team, arrested Mallappa, and recovered the stolen decorations and cash from him. University police filed charges in court.
The third-place top magistrate Dastgirsab Abdul Razak Mulla was convicted and sentenced Mallappa to five years in prison and fined him Rs 5,000.
Assistant Prosecutor Shivasharanappa argued on behalf of the prosecution.
