A woman attacks her mother-in-law with a dog and takes her to the police station to threaten the police

The Etminur Police Department witnessed some dramatic scenes on Saturday when a woman accused of putting a dog on her mother-in-law arrived at the station with an animal to intimidate police officers there.

The woman was identified as Perooor resident Rajani, who was at the station with her dog in the morning, tied her to the house and posed a threat to the on-duty staff. She was called for a complaint about assaulting her 72-year-old mother-in-law, Mariyamma John.

According to police, Rajani released the dog and attacked Mariyamma, causing bites to the elderly woman. CCTV footage of Friday’s attack was captured and later spread online. That night, Rajani had a commotion at the Ettumanur station, demanding a lawsuit against her injured mother-in-law. Later that day, police avoided arrest of Rajani.

The family claimed Rajani attacked Mariama again that night. The next morning, she returned to the station with her dog and tied it to the porch of the station, where it allegedly posed a threat to officers and the public.

Despite several attempts by the police to calm her down, Rajani refused to cooperate. Station House officials then ordered the registration of the case under the Kerala Police Act, which brought potentially dangerous animals into the police station and issued a threat. Rajani is now arrested on two separate charges and is arrested before a magistrate.
