Shocking statistics show that every week of the year there is a service female Army member who claims to have been raped by a colleague.
Sunday’s email could reveal that the Royal Military Police made 55 rape charges last year, almost twice as many as at the age of 30 in 2018, while 18 investigations into sexual assaults were conducted on infiltration following complaints from women against the troops.
Colonel Phil Ingram, a former Army intelligence officer, said he was “interleaved” with statistics.
“These numbers suggest that more things need to be done to protect the women’s teams,” he told Mail on Sunday.
“This clearly shows that the Department of Defense’s anti-rape campaign has failed, and sadly these numbers may be the tip of the iceberg, as many rape cases may not be reported. ”
The annual report shows that since 2022, 853 investigations have been conducted, alleging rape, sexual assault, exposure and voyeurism.
Last year, most of the alleged criminals were private soldiers between the ages of 21 and 25. But 42 officers have also been charged with sexual offences, the highest number since 2022.
This is an investigation into the death of Royal Artillery Gunner Jaysley Beck, who was found in her military camp at Camp Larkhill in Wiltshire in December 2021.

The investigation ended in February and found “failure” in the military’s handling of the case.
In a statement at the time, the Defense Department said: “We should do more support to support and protect her.”
Miss Baker was sent thousands of messages by her supervisor, allegedly nailed by a senior soldier who was trying to kiss her.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense said yesterday: “This Government is committed to supporting all of us who are affected by unacceptable and criminal acts.”
