AAP slams BJP for firing employees at Mohara clinic in Delhi

New Delhi: The AAM AADMI Party (AAP) attacked the Delhi BJP government on Friday, accusing the Mohara clinic of thousands of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and multitasking workers (MTWS).
Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh said in response to the allegations that the government will not be unfair to anyone and that all those who meet the criteria will be included.
“There will be an appropriate process to hire a doctor and all qualified candidates can apply. There will be transparency in the selection because we aim to provide the best health care for our employees.
The minister told PTI: “All good doctors and health care workers will be with us. Everything will be done systematically.”
Earlier, Delhi AAP Director Saurabh Bharadwaj spoke at a press conference, claiming that the minutes released on May 7 pointed to plans to close most Mohara clinics in Delhi. He said the reason for the statement was that Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs would be established at its location, and no matter where Aarogya Mandir is built, there would be no need for a nearby Mohalla clinic.
According to him, the statement said the clinic will only operate before the construction of Aarogya Mandirs, and then the clinic and its personnel will be removed from office.
“Since then, they have been trying to meet with the Chief Minister. But when they don’t get a response, they have no choice but to attend Janta Darbar of CM,” he said.
Bharadwaj accused the BJP of resuming commitments.
Prior to the election, Prime Minister (Narendra Modi), (Trade Union Health Minister) JP NADDA and every BJP MP and minister assured that there is no public welfare program during the AAP government service – whether it is free electricity, i.e. 20,000 liters of water or the Mohara clinic, the new health minister will be stopped by the new health minister.
He added: “With political hatred, all facilities were closed. Most importantly, people who used to come to the clinic every day used to get free treatments, free medicines and free tests, and these facilities were also closed by the BJP.”
Bharadwaj noted that many staff members have been working since 2017.
“For more than eight years, they have been working and earning Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 a month. Their income depends on the turnout of patients. Their entire family depends on them.”
He added: “Just like the BJP deleted over 10,000 bus marshals, the hospital’s data went into operators, yoga coaches, researchers at Delhi Parliamentary Research Centre (DARC) and guest teachers, now their target is Mohara Clinic staff. It’s shameful.”
He added: “In Arvind Kejriwal’s government, the poor got jobs. Today, under the leadership of the BJP, they were removed without any consideration of how to run their own home and support their families.”
