Before the release, Chauhan explored the horror genre excitement for the first time in his career. “It’s exciting, new, I’ve never filmed something like this before, but when I grew up watching a lot of things, horror was like a fun genre. The way the show was written and the way the show was led by producer Smita Ma’am (Pankaj Sir), who directed it with Surya, and they all were willing to shoot and create something.

Although Chauhan avoids leaking details about his character, he says, “There are multiple characters in the story. I happen to be one of a character and they will have some faced the terrible side here and there, so I think it’s more fun to watch the show and then be able to see all the characters.” However, while sharing his preparations, he revealed that it’s a layered and complex character.
Khauf marks Chauhan’s second collaboration with Mast Mein Rehne KA’s actress Monika Panwar. He called her a “stunning actor” and he said, “She is an amazing actor, I mean I have a lot of inspiration, and I respect her dedication to her craft and how she surprised me, which also made me work harder and she is a dedicated actor.”
Originally from Uttarakhand, Chauhan honed his craft in dramas before transitioning to film and series. He praised good mentorship and working with the right people, which helped from drama to film and series, because of his training and experience.

Abhishek Chauhan says his path to OTT is environmentally driven
Abhishek Chauhan has more views on OTT than in the movie. Asked if this was a conscious decision, Chauhan explained that this was largely driven by the environment, revealing that the Hotstar film Bahut Hua Samman (2020) should be released in the theater in the first place. “It’s also a thing that keeps pace with the times because when I started acting, I was doing more website performances. When Ott flourished. So a lot of online shows and movies were on the OTT platform. So all the projects I did were on the Ott. But after that, I mean, I mean, I’ve posted something. Do anything,” he said.
Abhishek Chauhan’s view on OTT censorship
“I do 110% of people support freedom of speech because we are in a field where we express, how different the way we express the same thing is. I want to encourage more. I really don’t know how much it affects people and how it affects people. But being able to at least convey what you want and say the way you want, I feel like I’ll say, it’s a small thing.”
Meanwhile, Khauf is scheduled to be released on Amazon Prime video on April 18.
