Dalit teenager sexually harassing in North Goa

A 17-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly sexually harassed on Monday while traveling to a shop in North Goa. Residents held a massive protest, accusing police of delaying action, prompting deputy inspectors to move to the police community. The incident involved an employee of the power department who is now accused of using caste slander and tearing his shirt to sexually harassing a minor. According to FIR, the defendant also threatened her with “terrible consequences.”
Frustration with the lack of police response has led to protests by the victim’s family and community members at the local police station, demanding immediate arrest of the defendant. In response, police launched an investigation into the alleged delay in the investigation.
