The state-of-the-art airport truck management facility (ATMF) has been operated in the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) Domestic Cargo Terminal (DCT).

The ATMF, developed by shell mobility, is expected to ensure seamless cargo movement, reduce traffic congestion and improve terminal efficiency.

“ATMF improves turnover time and operational efficiency by simplifying truck flow, real-time processing and providing driver facilities to ensure smooth operation,” said Bengaluru International Airport Ltd. (BIAL).

It added that by handling about 1,600 trucks per day, BLR cargo effectively addresses critical inefficiencies such as traffic congestion, delays and limited driver facilities. It added: “With over 250 parking spaces, the ATMF optimizes operations with digital processing, automatic approval and a seamless cargo movement.”

ATMF enables automated, common pre-checking, paperless inlets, and digital pick-up and exit processes to accelerate truck clearance.

Bill said that by leveraging advanced digital solutions, ATMF has transformed trucking at airports.

It added that the facility enables automated, common pre-checks, paperless entrances, and digital pickups and exit processes to speed up truck customs clearance.

The introduced handheld devices for occupancy institutions have cut truck turnover time from four hours to one hour, with 78% of trucks less than 20 minutes before entering the cargo dock. BIAL said 24/7 CCTV surveillance enhances security and operational oversight and application-based approval mechanisms that enable faster, digital truck customs clearance, optimizing logistics efficiency.

“Given the significant increase in cargo at the airport, it is time to invest in solutions to ensure seamless and timely movement of trucks and the well-being of truck drivers and by providing the necessary amenities.
