Dalit girl sits outside the classroom during exams.

The girl, who was reportedly from the Arunthathiyar community (according to the planned caste classification), was sitting on the stairs and was studying for high school at Swamy Chidbhavananda, Senguttaipalayam Village, Coimbatore.
Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said on Friday that the principals of private schools have been suspended.
“A departmental investigation was conducted on private schools. The principal of the school has been suspended. Any form of oppression of children cannot be tolerated. Dear student, don’t sit alone! We are here. We will be here. We will be here.”
The student went to school on April 9 and wrote her annual exam on April 9, and she was allegedly not allowed to enter the classroom but was seated on the steps outside.
The incident happened after her mother and relative visited the school and found the girl inspected on the stairs outside the classroom. What they witnessed was shocked, and they asked about the treatment she received, but the students remained silent. Her relatives recorded a situation that caused public outrage.
Education officials urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to take immediate action.
