government. Urge to speed up investigation into building number scams

Kozhikode Corporation Council has asked the state government to speed up investigations into building number scams, where the user IDs and passwords of company employees were allegedly leaked for fraud. The case is under investigation by the Vigilance Department.
When discussing a report submitted by company secretary Ku Bini, introducing the restoration of two employees suspended as part of the investigation, the council meeting on Tuesday asked the government to speed up the investigation and submit the charges as early as possible.
According to the report, up to 202 unauthorized buildings have been identified as having figures obtained through scams in the preliminary investigation. The company has canceled all figures and signed a tax requirement notice for these unauthorized constructions. However, the owners of the building received an injunction from the Kerala Administrative Court and therefore could not take any action against them. The issue will not be resolved until the investigation is completed. Therefore, the Secretary had suggested that the Council had treated the Government in this regard.
Deputy Mayor CP Musafir Ahamed said the company will do its best. Mayor Beana Philip said the company took all the necessary steps once it was fraudulently unearthed. Meanwhile, opposition leader KC Shobhita asked the company to file a lawsuit seeking against the culprit before the end of its current council term.
Later, UDF MPs went on strike when they disagree with ASHA workers’ wages to some extent. CPI(M) MP Sujatha Koodathinkal filed a motion to request the coalition government to accept ASHA workers as permanent employees and increase their salaries. However, the UDF requested amendments to the motion, requiring the state government to increase the remuneration of ASHA workers. However, the ruling front does not accept the amendment to the UDF strike.
Earlier, the Council unanimously adopted an adjournment motion by IUML K. Moideen Koya, demanding immediate action against drug abuse among young people. Mayor Beana Philip said the Council will further discuss and develop plans in this regard. She noted that since awareness programs are unlikely to achieve the expected results, more public participation is required.
