In the 18th edition, Pandya continued his outstanding performance by firing South African T20I captain Aiden Markram, who scored 53 runs in 38 goals before being captured by Raj Angad Bawa. Pandya broke away from Akash Deep (out for Golden Duck) and David Miller (14-ball run), adding to the final inning of the LSG inning. On the sixth ball, Mitchell Santner captured Akash deeply and Naman Dhir captured Miller.
Before Pandya achieved amazing achievements, Anil Kumble kept a record of the best bowling statistics for the captain in IPL history. On May 24, 2009, Kumble scored 16-1 when playing for Deccan Chargers in Johannesburg for Bangalore.
