The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) asserted on Friday that comments by some prominent Congress leaders on the Pahalgam terrorist attacks were used by Pakistan to fuel anti-India propaganda, prompting the main opposition parties to enter attack mode.
Jairam Ramesh distanced himself from his colleague’s comments after the Congress secretary-general responded to the allegations and said “they spoke for themselves.” Mr Ramesh asserted that opposition leaders of the Congress Working Committee, Party Leadership Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have already clarified the party’s position.
In a press conference, former Union Minister and BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad pointed out that some Congressional leaders raised suspicions about the testimony of Pahargam victims that terrorists knocked down people after asking about religion.
He sought answers from Congress leaders with a “condemnible” comment from Ramappa Balappa Timmapur, the cabinet colleague of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah; opposition Maharashtra Parliamentary Leader Vijay Wadettiwar, Haryana Minister Chaudhary Chander Kumar, former Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar and Saifuddin Soz.
Mr Prasad acknowledged that Mr Karge and Mr Gandhi had publicly stated the action the party was taking against the government, which he said reflects the strength of mature democracy. He said that in the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai, the BJP firmly supported the Congress-led government. “We expect the same thing to be true in Congress…but what are some of the big leaders in Congress saying and what is the purpose behind it?” he asked.
Slam Siddaramaiah
The BJP leaders questioned Mr. Siddhartha’s remarks that “no war is needed”. Mr Timmapur alleged assertion that the terrorists did not demand “shame” before shooting the tourists’ religion, and criticized Mr Vadtival for the fact that the terrorists did do so. “This is a height of insensitiveness,” he said.
Mr. Prasad’s goal is Robert Vadra, husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, “irresponsibly” accusing the government of talking about “Hindutva” and claiming that the country’s minorities are in trouble. He said: “Then Mani Shankar Aiyar said ‘we’ cannot solve the consequences of partitioning, what does he mean? …”
He said that while countries around the world, including the United States, Russia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Italy, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, support India in the fight against terrorism, Chaudhary Chandra Kumar, the Minister of Animal and Animal Husbandry of the Himaal government, said the world said the world was “mocking the United States.”
‘akhilesh’
BJP leaders called on Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, who showed “indifference” to the family of Shubham Dwivedi, a victim family in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Mr Prasad pointed out that the slogan “Sindabad, Pakistan” was put forward during the Mahagathbandhan march in Bihar, and Mr Prasad condemned the Congress leader from Kashmir Suffolin South.
“Mr. Suz said ‘Water is important for irrigation and drinking in Pakistan… Indian water strips are the lifeline for Pakistan… If Pakistan does not participate in the position of Pahargan attack, we should accept Pakistan, then we should accept Pakistan’s words. Should I accept Pakistan’s words? Running,” Mr. Prasad said.
Congress’s position
Mr. Ramesh asserted that on April 24, the Parliamentary Working Committee adopted a resolution condemning the terrorist attack. “Since then, on the evening of April 24, the opposition president of Congress and the opposition Lok Sabha’s opposition attended the party’s whole party meeting and raised the party’s views. Some Congressional leaders have been speaking to the media. They speak for themselves and do not reflect Congress’ views,” he posted on X. ”

Party sources said the post was prompted by comments from several Congressional leaders, with the aim of sending a clear signal to party leaders who either avoid speaking on the issue or rejecting the party.
Declare war
Continuous remarks by Congress leaders have led to public disputes between members of Lok Sabha of Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor and his party colleague Udit Raj.
Mr Raj hit Mr Tharoor for his Renarks, i.e. “No country has 100% foolproof intelligence” and said there is no other person’s freedom and security except Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr Raji said in an article on X: “Shashi Tharoor said that in the 26/11 Mumbai attack, no country had 100% foolproof intelligence? Modi Ji said after arriving in Mumbai from Gujarat, it was a failure of the central government. He said the problem was the center rather than the border.”
Mr Tharoor fought back against Mr Raj, saying the latter was a former Bharatiya Janata party MP and “qualified to know who represents the BJP”.
