BCCI also issued a statement condemning the “terrible and cowardly attack.”

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said: “Yesterday, the tragic loss of innocent lives was deeply shocked and annoyed the cricket community.”

He added: “On behalf of the BCCI, I condemn this horrible and timid behavior, express my heartfelt condolences in the strongest words, praying to the suspected families and the late souls. We shake hands in this hour’s tragedy as we share their pain and sorrow.”

Indian cricket teams snapped up bilateral cricket with Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack, and recently refused to visit the country’s championship trophy, prompting the ICC to prepare for a neutral position in Dubai.
