A gold dealer was arrested on suspicion of assisting Kannada actress Harshavardhini Ranya, sources said Thursday.
They said the dealer is Barari, who was questioned in the case of being arrested by the Tax Intelligence Agency on Wednesday.
According to sources, Sahil Jain is accused of assisting and teaching Nao to deal with smuggling gold and sharing sales proceeds.
When she arrived from Dubai on March 3, she seized gold bars worth Rs 125.6 crore from Ranya from Kempegowda International Airport.
After that, a search was conducted at her residence, officials recovered gold jewelry worth Rs 206 crore, with the Indian currency of Rs 267 crore.
Ranya Rao and hotelier Tarun Raju have been arrested in the case.
