Agriculture Minister Chouhan said India has harvested 38% so far in 2025-26

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Sunday that the country has harvested 38% of the total wheat area, an estimated 32 million hectares of the 2025-26 marketing season.
Given the possibility of good yields of various rabies crops, Chouhan directed officials to make better procurement arrangements for farmers.
In a statement, the minister said that wheat “harvesting conditions are better” in key states in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Bihar.
The government set a 31-ton Mat target for the 2025-26 marketing season (April and March).
According to official data, farmers have completed 91% of the rabbit pulse area, 87% of the oilseed area, 70% of the Shree Anna and coarse grain area and 33% of the rice area on April 4.
