Sixth State Reporter Volleyball Championship begins in Kannur

The 6th State Reporter Volleyball Championship, held at the Thulasi Bhaskaran Memorial Everrolling Trophy, opened on Friday (May 2) at the Jawahar Stadium, attracting the participation of media staff from all over Kerala.
The tournament was organized by the Kannur Press Club and was held as part of the anti-drug propaganda campaign. Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman opened the ceremony, hosted by C. Sunil Kumar, Chairman of the Press Club. Secretary Kabir Kannadiparamba welcomed the party.
Speakers at the event included SBI Chief Manager Dheeraj, Chamber Secretary Anil Kumar, Dr. Dilshad of Kims Srichand Hospital, Kuwj Sports Convener Joy Nair, Kuwj State Vice President K. Vijesh, Kuwj Malappuram Regional President Nisar Nisar and Kuwj State Commission Member Ajay Kumar. Leaders of youth organizations such as Sarin Sasi, Muhammad Afzal, KV Rajish also participated in the competition.
Shameer Urpalli, convener of the Organization Committee, expressed his gratitude.
The match was postponed to Saturday (May 3) due to adverse weather. Play will resume at 5 p.m. at the Kannur Municipal School indoor stadium, which faces the Malappuram Press Club in the opening match.
The official final will be composed of teams from the Forest and Central Prison Department. Later, Kozhikode and Malappuram Press Clubs will compete, followed by a competition involving the leaders of youth organizations.
The tournament will end in an exhibition between a team of celebrities, led by film actors and former Indian Abu Saleem, Shiyaz Kareem, Rajeev Pillai, Mr. World Shinu Chovva and former football player CK Vineeth and a police team (City) P led by the head of the district police station (City).
