Income tax officer Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn) was transferred to Bhoj, who crossed the route with the politician Manohar Dhankar Aka Dadabhai (Riteish Deshmukh), who was worshipped by people. Dadabhai’s “Whiter-Whiter-White” ruled Amay’s scanner, his 75th raid and joined a new team. Can Amay easily expose Dadabhai? How Amay will handle Dadabhai’s smart plan to form the key to RAID 2.
RAID 2 is a direct sequel to RAID (2018), seven years after the first part. Usually, we want the sequel to be higher than the previous part. There are high expectations in a movie that makes us sit on the edge of our seats. Thankfully, RAID 2 is the franchise deserved sequel, and it does raise the ante. However, the situation or event that happens in the film does test your patience, and while watching RAID 2, the script of the raid is indeed hovering.
RAID 2 is undoubtedly an improvement in many aspects. Scale, or in Amay’s case, the bet is higher. Compared to the previous section, Antigo’s world architecture is more fascinating. Unlike Tauji (Sourabh Shukla from RAID), Amay Patnaik has to work hard to get the first evidence against Dadabhai, which gets you engaged. RAID 2 is written by Aditya Belnekar, Raj Kumar Gupta, Ritesh Shah, Karan Vyas and Jaideep Yadav. The team ensures that the audience is fully focused. The script has several twists and turns, which makes the narrative even more shocking.
When it comes to acting, Ajay Devgn brings the film to his shoulders as usual. Although Ajay looked bored, tired and a little uninterested in the initial part of the first half. However, the narrative quickly spun him, which brought him back in real form. deshmukh riteish thdabhai always shines. In some sequences, he overwhelms Ajay Devgn. His arc is a man with family and hides his sinister, morally corrupt role that is his elaborate and convincing. The ceremony effortlessly entered the politician’s skin because he incorporated his personal observations into his role. Vaani Kapoor is nice as Malini Patnaik. Her character has a larger range than the previous episode, and despite limited screen space, she is fair to it.
Sourabh Shukla is a hot spot as Rameshwar Singh aka Tauji. In some cases, his presence, dialogue delivery and subtle humor reminds you what makes the raid better. Supriya Pathak is effortlessly nice, and even with very little screen time, she provides great support for the narrative and dadaba. Special mention of Amit Sial, who brings seamless laughs in this shocking crime thriller. Amit’s witty conversations and unpredictable nuances add more value to the script. Apart from that, Shruti Pandey and Geeta Devi are things to watch out for. Bijendra Kala and Yashpal Sharma are good. Tamannaah Bhatia and Nasha’s songs have a very beautiful appearance. Usually, one of the songs in this movie is pissed off, but Nasha stands out because of the beauty of Bhatia.
When it comes to shortcomings, the distortion after a period of time becomes predictable. This development takes too much time, and Amay’s constant failure will let you down in some places. The music is memorable. No songs stay in touch with you after the movie is over except Nasha. Honey Singh’s money is in good position in the points and puts down the curtains at a very high speed. At some point, Dadabhai looks fragile, while Tauji looks more threatening. Overall, RAID 2 takes the franchise to new heights, a movie that is only watched in cinemas.
