Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav claimed on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 that the decision to enumerate castes was a victory in the opposition and PDA social field, describing it as the first phase of an active democratic movement.
“The decision of the caste census is 100% victory for 90% PDA. The BJP government is forced to make this decision due to the combined pressure from all of us. This is a very important stage for the PDA to win in the fight for social justice,” Yadav announced the decision on X, on X.
PDA means Pichhda, Dalits and Alpsankhyak, Regression, Dalit and Minority acronyms, SP is used in these segments for political outreach.
He warned that only an honest census can ensure that each caste meets the proportion of its population. He added: “This is a warning to the BJP government for its election rigging away from the caste census. Only an honest census can ensure that each caste acquires its rights and rights proportional to its population, and until now, it is a right that rulers have been paying attention to.”
