Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav claimed on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 that the decision to enumerate castes was a victory in the opposition and PDA social field, describing it as the first phase of an active democratic movement.
“The decision of the caste census is 100% victory for 90% PDA. The BJP government is forced to make this decision due to the combined pressure from all of us. This is a very important stage for the PDA to win in the fight for social justice,” Yadav announced the decision on X, on X.
PDA means Pichhda, Dalits and Alpsankhyak, Regression, Dalit and Minority acronyms, SP is used in these segments for political outreach.
He warned that only an honest census can ensure that each caste meets the proportion of its population. He added: “This is a warning to the BJP government for its election rigging away from the caste census. Only an honest census can ensure that each caste acquires its rights and rights proportional to its population, and until now, it is a right that rulers have been paying attention to.”

The head of the SP said: “This is the first phase of the active democratic movement of the democratic movement and the final phase of the BJP’s negative politics. Earlier, union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, informed that the coalition cabinet had decided to include caste enumeration in the next census. “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Political Affairs Committee decided today (the caste enumeration should be included in the upcoming census,” he told the media during a briefing on the union’s cabinet decisions.
