Kannappa is based on the Hindu Kannappa legend of Lord Shiva. In the movie Kannappa, Madhoo plays Pannaga, a stag fighter from the Vishnu Manchu family. As the film progresses, Pannaga will also become a devotee to Lord Shiva. After becoming Akki's heroine, Madhoo will now be his screen devotee.
