Guntur Municipal Corporation presents a budget of Rs 15,342.7 crore to fiscal 2025-26

GUNTUR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION (GMC) launched a budget of Rs 1,534.27 crore in fiscal year 2025-26. Of these, Rs 1,0118.23 crore is used for expenditures, while Rs 5,16.04 crore will be moved to the next finance. Estimates also include Rs 6,7023 crore that continues from the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Estimated expenditures for 2025-26 are 3525 crore higher than the revised estimate of Rs 66573 crore revised in 2024-25. Similarly, the expected revenue is Rs 8644 crore – an increase of Rs 20783 crore from the previous year’s revised revenue estimate to Rs 65621 crore.

Although the budget was originally scheduled to be approved by March 31, the GMC committee cleared administrative delays on April 7, including the resignation of the mayor.

Speech Hindu GMC Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu said Tuesday the council is determined to receive 100% of all taxes and dues in the current fiscal year. He added that efforts are also being made to address loopholes in administrative spending.

Mr Srinivasulu said that in the 187.61 crore rupees, the estimated capital expenditure for 2025-26 years from GMC’s own income, Rs 32.08 crore (17.1%) will be allocated to the scheduled caste (SC) residential areas, residential areas, women (5.33%) and plan (5%) (5%) (5%) (5%) (9. He noted that a large portion of this expenditure will be used to strengthen social infrastructure, including drainage systems, road construction, avenue plantations and green spaces throughout the city.
