All TBM levels are now exposed

Hyderabad: Rescuers in the SLBC tunnel made a significant breakthrough Tuesday, with officials saying it was the first time since the collapse on February 22 that workers were found missing, and all three levels of tunnel drilling machines were exposed after clearing more than 1,500 tons of Silt and broken machine parts.
According to Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary for Disaster Management, Tuesday’s development means rescuers can now focus on finding the seven missing workers.
Teams from Singaporeni Collieries and SDRF, as well as other teams, have given different tasks in the rescue work area, which helps to remove different kinds of debris faster. “We hope we can make a breakthrough on the next day or the next day to find missing workers,” Arvind Kumar said.
It may be remembered that eight workers disappeared after the accident on February 22, and one of them was found on March 9.
Arvind Kumar said water jets were used to wash sludge from the machine and load sludge onto conveyor belts using excavators.
Many of the cables in the machines that were destroyed in the accident were also cut with the machine parts and taken away on the locomotive, he said.
