“ Allahabad Mein Doodh Bech Raha Hota Agar…”

Back in the 1990s, Amitabh Bachchan confessed frankly what if he wasn’t an actor.

Amitabh Bachchan is the biggest superstar in Indian movies. Over fifty years, the Bollywood superstar has seen several highs and lows throughout his life. Despite the lower stages, financial setbacks and even life-threatening accidents, Big B is tall and keeps his star.

In an old viral video of the Filmfare Award in 1991, hosts Shekhar Kapur and Neelam asked several actors: “What would they be if they weren’t actors?” Several actors including Anupam Kher, Amrish Puri, Sunny Deol, Jeetendra, Bhagyashree, and even the director, Subhash Ghai, Rajesh Roshan, Indra Kumar and Rajkumar Santoshi all provided honest replies. But the weirdest and most honest answer is from the actor Deval. When Amitabh was asked “what would he be if it weren’t an actor,” he replied: “Allahabad Mein Doodh Bech Raha Hota (I was originally the milkman of Allahabad).

Amitabh, from Allahabad (now in prayer), became one of the protagonists in the 1969 film Saat Hindustani. The film was a failure, and until 1972, he worked hard to build his mark in Bollywood. He saw him among several average or fools, including Pyar Ki Kahani, Reshma Aur Shera, Sanjog, Bansi Birju, Ek Nazar and Gehri Chaal.

In 1973, Amitabh took on the groundbreaking role of Inspector Vijay Khanna in Prakash Mehra’s Zanjeer. The action drama was rejected by several superstars including Dharmendra, Dilip Kumar and Rajesh Khanna. Zanjeer is a blockbuster, which makes Amitabh the “angry young man” in Bollywood.

Over the years, Amitabh has given several blockbusters including Deewaar, Sholay, Kabhi Kabhie, Hera Pheri, Amar Akbar Anthony, Parvarish, Parvarish, Kasme Vaade, Don sharaabi coolie.

In the 1990s, Amitabh Bachchan took the risk of production, but suffered bankruptcy due to several failures. However, Big B rebounded and accepted a support role, offering a new lease for his career. In terms of work, Bachchan was last seen in Kalki in 2898 AD. Pan-Indian blockbusters became Bachchan’s first rupees of Rs 1,000 crore.
