The tension in Uttar Pradesh has continued since November 24 last year, when violence broke out in the city’s Kot Garvi area in a Mughal Jama Masjid. The incident resulted in four deaths due to gunfire and several injuries, including police.

Talk to reporters about preparations ‘alvida’ (Lamzan’s last Friday) prayed, ASP Chandra said appropriate police deployments were planned under the department and regional systems to ensure peaceful compliance.

He said at a meeting of the Peace Commission, it was asked whether Namaz could be provided on the roof. According to them, crowds on the roof could cause accidents, and as a result, such gatherings were rejected and prohibited.

Similarly, NAMAZ is prohibited on roads due to safety concerns and potential traffic disruptions.

Asp Chandra said: “There is no restriction on the provision of Namaz in traditional mosques and eidgah, they will be carried out in accordance with traditional peace.”

He further clarified that the mosque with small speakers will continue to practice without interruption.

He stressed that for several years, authorities have ensured that Namaz is not available on the road, and that the rule has remained the same this year.

Asked about the action reported by Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Zia-ur-Rahman Barq to the Allahabad High Court on the Namaz provisions, ASP Chandra reiterated that no one was blocked from praying traditionally. However, unnecessarily collecting roofs poses safety risks and authorities will take measures to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
