jntuh can improve SC skills, St students

Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University Hyderabad (JNTUH) will improve its retention policy and skills development program for students in the SC and ST communities at a senior review meeting on Tuesday.
The conference was chaired by JNTUH Vice President Professor T. Kishen Kumar Reddy, and focuses on teacher recruitment, student admissions and effective implementation of booking policies. Telangana SC, Chairman of the Saint Council, Bakki Venkataiah, addressed the meeting, highlighting the need for structured skills training and providing better employment opportunities for beneficiaries.
One of the key points is the university’s commitment to formally implementing booking guidelines in outsourcing. “Currently, there are 114 outsourcing employees working at JNTUH, but we lack a clear retention guide and our goal is to correct this and create more opportunities.”
The meeting also highlighted the positive trend of doctoral admission, which is the increase in enrollment rates of SC and ST students compared with previous years. Many students also receive seats through open categories. However, recruitment of teachers remains a concern, and the Deputy Prime Minister urged the government to speed up permanent teacher appointments.
In addition, the Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of UK proficiency in obtaining global job opportunities. “The job market is changing,” he said.
