Amid the official indifference, tribal villagers worked hard to build roads

Visakhapatnam: Annoyed by the negligence of failing to take steps to complete the road project, the Kondu Tribal People (PVTGS) of 120 particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGS) built a 1.5km highway connecting Jajulu Bandha to the distance between Pitri Gandda and Pitri Gadda village, by weakening the difficult terrain in two days to blend their isolated fields with theirs. Jajulu Bandha, a small hilltop village in Moopapet Panchayat, ASR district, is home to 30 Kondu families. Entering this remote area has long been a tough time, and it takes a difficult journey through Pitri Gadda from Arla Village.
When Korra Shanti, an expected mother from Jajulu Bandha, encountered a seven-km journey, enduring a seven-km journey in Doli (a temporary stretcher arrangement used in an emergency), the urgency of a better infrastructure surfaced. Similarly, another pregnant woman from Pitri Gadda, Korra Devi, faces a similar challenge. These distressing events have attracted the public attention of collectors in the Anakapalle area, who allocated Rs 41 crore on 2 December 2024 to build the road from Arla to Pitri Gadda. However, despite the funding, the project was still slow, disconnecting Jajulu Bandha.
The villagers worked tirelessly from April 13 to 14, working tirelessly under the guidance of Konda Tambali Venkat Rao and Korra Kameshu. Their efforts temporarily alleviate the urgent need for road connectivity, but villagers urged ITDA PO to speed up the appropriate road construction promised.
