Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently on a two-day visit to Maharashtra, having lunch on Saturday at Sunil Tatkare, senior NCP MP MP and state party head, in Raigad. The meeting was held at a sensitive moment, with increasing friction between BJP Allies-Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP-Over’s main ministerial roles.
With tensions over Raigad and Nashik’s Guardian, lunch is political. Earlier this year, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revoked BJP’s Girish Mahajan and NCP’s Aditi Tatkare (daughter of Sunil Tatkare) as guardians of Nashik and Raigad, and within 24 hours of their announcement.
Shiv Sena asked Raigad Post for its MLA majority in the region and promoted his own representation in Nashik. However, the NCP holds its own ground, leading to a tug of war within the league.
