Akhilesh accused of CM Adityanath Govt of indulging in large-scale mining at Chambal Ravines

Samajwadi Party Chairman Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday (16 April 2025) alleged large-scale illegal mining and environmental damage to the Chambal ditches in Etawa, accusing government-led officials of promoting the disappearance of the entire hill.

In strong words on X, Mr. Yadav questioned whether the small hills near the historic Sumer Singh Fort had been “transferred to areas like Basti and Gorakhpur and colluded with lower and higher officials.

He shared a video clip showing what seemed partly flattened landscape, where hills once stood.

“New officials may come and go, but the hills of Chambal were hacked and disappeared from corrupt spades and split by collusion’How would those people return?” Mr Yadav wrote.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister added:Paryavaran Kahe Aaj ka, Nahi Chahiye BJP (In the name of today’s environment, we don’t need BJP)! ”
