Treasury bonds process financial transactions worth Rs 240,000 crore in 2024-25: Balagopal

Finance Minister Kn Balagopal said on Saturday that the state treasury handled financial transactions worth Rs 240,000 crore in 2024-25.

The minister spoke in the media after visiting Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday, which was the last working day of the financial year.

The amount could hit Rs 2.6 crore when the details of the last day’s transaction are in the details. It has been the last working day since March 29 (March 30 is Sunday and March 31, thanks to ID-UL-FITR holidays), and the government has set March 26 as the last day for departmental filings.

The Ministry of Finance and the Treasury Bureau have arranged in advance to handle the bills. He said on March 28 alone, 26,000 bills were processed.
