Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said after opening CATH LABS at Ongole’s Government General Hospital on Friday (April 11) that all government hospitals provide better medical education for the poor and upgrading the infrastructure and equipment for better medical services to the poor is the most important.
Minister of Social Welfare Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao and Prakasam regional collector A. Thameem Ansaria. Mr. Satya Kumar reviewed the infrastructure and medical services provided by GGH, interacted with hospital officials, and gave them some advice and instructions.
“The state government has provided medical services up to Rs 2.5 lakh to the poor through Dr NTR Vaidya Seva. Free diagnostic tests for cancer are underway throughout the state,” he said at a party.
He also highlighted the government’s concerns about preventive medicine. Each constituency will establish a 100-bed multi-specialty hospital with all infrastructure. “The government is paying special attention to teaching hospitals. Some surgeries are not available in government hospitals that are not available in private hospitals,” he said.
Mr Satya Kumar said the government is trying to convince people that it is better to receive treatment in government hospitals than in private hospitals. He said doctors should consider their work sacred and dedicate themselves to people to provide medical services. He said recent surgeries at GGH highlighted the skills of government doctors.
“Measures are being taken to build the necessary infrastructure in government hospitals. Doctors need to work effectively so that people think that if they go to government hospitals, they will get better treatment.”
He added: “The patients who come to the government hospital come from very poor families. If they are provided with better health care, they will support families financially. It is necessary to improve health and safety services at Ongole GGH. Hospital deans should pay special attention to this.”
After the opening of the inaugural laboratory, Mr. Satya Kumar interacted with the person who underwent surgery in the special ward. He congratulated the dental department Hod Kiran Kumar and the Ent Hod Prabhakar surgical department Hod Kishan Babu of GGH.
