Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu comments on Simhachalam event; Order Advanced Detector

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted a high-level review of the Simhachalam incident at his residence in Undavalli near Vijayawada on Tuesday (29 April 2025).

Senior officials, including the Director General of Police and other senior bureaucrats, attended the meeting and detailed the order of the incident and the extension of the relief measures to the victims.

Having seriously considered the incident, the Chief Minister ordered the establishment of a three-member committee composed of senior IAS IAS and IPS officials to conduct a thorough investigation. The committee includes Suresh Kumar, chief secretary of municipal administration, AK Ravikrishna, chief engineer of Eagle and Venkateshwar Rao, chief engineer of irrigation.

The Chief Minister directed the Committee to submit a preliminary report within 72 hours, stressing the need for a quick and transparent investigation. The government’s response highlighted its commitment to accountability and promptly addressed concerns arising from the incident.
