AAP will boycott MCD mayoral elections on April 25

The AAP announced on Monday that it will not be elected for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor of Delhi for the upcoming elections. The poll is scheduled to be held on April 25.

“The AAM AADMI Party (AAP) will also play a strongly opposed role in the MCD. The BJP did a lot of rigs in the MCD elections but still died during this period, but after that, it still did not stop.

She said her party did not believe in “politics that undermine the trade with horses” and decided not to participate in the mayoral competition.
“Now, the BJP should form a triple engine government and fulfill its promise to the people of Delhi,” Attichi said.

Saurabh Bharadwaj, head of the Delhi department of AAP, also attended the press conference, accusing BJP of being addicted to malfeasance during the demarcation process.

“The BJP also stopped the MCD elections earlier. During the demarcation period, the wards changed. In the process, fraud and corruption were huge. Nevertheless, the BJP lost the election and the AAP formed the government again.” He also claimed that BJP MPs tried to undermine the MCD meeting. “After the drama of BJP MPs and ongoing defection, we decided not to hire candidates,” he said.

Over the past few months, the intensity of BJP in MCD has increased to 119. Members of Congress nominated for MCD and MLA are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections.

According to a notice issued by the MCD Secretary’s Office, the company will hold a regular meeting on April 25, with elections for mayor and deputy mayors scheduled to be held at 2 p.m.
