Two petitions from the Supreme Court have called for a surveillance investigation into violence in West Bengal, involving the newly enacted WAQF (Amendment) bill.
On April 14, violence related to WAQF laws shocked the Bhangar area of South 24 Parganas District of West Bengal, despite police claims that the previous Riot Epicenter of Murshidabad was in a legal and order situation in the previous centre of Murshidabad.

Attorney Shashank Shekhar Jha filed a PIL seeking the court to form a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate violent cases.
Defense attorney Vishal Tiwari filed another plea to demand a five-person judicial inquiry committee led by a former Supreme Court judge to investigate violence in the state.

One of them requires a report to the state government to be submitted to the Supreme Court, which is violent in addition to protecting people’s lives and property directions.
The Kolkata High Court recently ordered the deployment of central forces in the violently attacked Mexidabad area.
At least three people were killed during protests against the WAQF (Amendment) Act from April 11 to 12, and hundreds were homeless in community violence in the Murhidabad region.
