Sony Hiking Playstation 5 price times 25% as Trump’s tariff war vents uneasy: India’s PS5 price changes?

Sony said on Sunday that the industry was in trouble due to the effect of Donald Trump’s tariffs, which has made a “hard decision” to raise the price of its supergame product, the PlayStation 5 by 25%.
“In the context of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and exchange rate fluctuations, Sie made a difficult decision to increase the recommended retail price (RRP) of the PlayStation 5 console,” the major of Japan said in a press release.
However, the price increase in PlayStation 5 is only used for digital versions, not gaming consoles in some countries. The PS5 digital version is a slim version of the console without an optical drive.
PS5 price rises: Who will be affected?
As of now, drama price increases will be implemented in certain markets, Sony said. This includes markets in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
Selected markets in the Middle East and Africa will also be affected by rising PS5 prices.
When will the new price take effect?
According to a press release from the Japanese company, the price of the new Sony PS5 will take effect on Monday, April 14.

Sony was one of the first major technology companies to announce price increases in its products after Donald Trump announced his reciprocity tariffs on April 2. As part of the White House decision, Japan’s export rate to the United States was 24 tariffs. Other major companies such as Apple are also expected to raise iPhone prices and other products.
