Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap invites trouble again. Amid the ongoing controversy over Anant Mahadevan’s film Phule, the Brahmin community opposed the film to hurt their emotions, and Anurag made caste remarks on social media, leading opposition and even legal lawsuits nationwide.
What exactly happened?
The Black Friday director traveled to Instagram to express his anger at the controversy related to Phule – delays in the release of the film and protests from the Brahmin community on the film. Kashyap slams the Central Committee for Certification (CBFC) and protesters. When his comments were criticized by netizens, he continued to speak insultingly to Brahmins, saying, “Main Brahmin Pe Mootunga, the koi problem?” He went on to point out that Brahmins are the worst exploiters who don’t allow anyone to grow. Anurag’s abuse answers and position have been strongly criticized and now legal complaints have been filed against him.
Advocate Ashutosh J. Dubey shared on Twitter that he has formally filed a complaint against Dev D filmmakers and sought FIR from Anurag. He tweeted: “I have formally filed a complaint with @mumbaipolice for registration of FIR for @anuragkashyap72 to demonstrate his comments on the derogatory and casteism of the Brahmin community” Brahmin PE Main Mootoonga.

Anurag did not respond to the rebound, nor did he apologize for his comments. We will have to wait for his statement. On the job side, Anurag Kashyap is currently busy with agency projects in the south.
