New Delhi: Indian cricket star Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket for a few hours, his wife and actor Anushka Sharma said on Monday that it was an honor to have evolved after each series in the format of each series and to have returned with a “little clever, more modest person”.
Kohli, 36, announced his withdrawal from Test cricket on Monday, ending speculation about his future in the longest form of the sport. He participated in 123 Indian Tests with a score of 9,230, an average of 46.85.
Sharma, 37, shared a heartfelt post on Instagram praising her husband.
“They will talk about records and milestones – but I will remember tears you never showed, fights that no one saw and the unwavering love you gave this form of game.”
Her photo with Kohli was captioned.
Kohli is now only in the ODI competition that has retired from T20 International last year.
The actor added in the post: “Somehow, I always thought you would retire from international cricket as white. But you’ve been following your heart all the time, so I just want to say my love, you won every part of this goodbye.”
Kohli and Sharma ended the final in 2017 and shared two children – daughter Vamika (four) and 15-month-old son Akaay.
