AP cabinet sends green signal to 28 major investment proposals

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, which met on Tuesday, made several major decisions, including land allocation for industrial development and electricity projects.

Information Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy and Civil Supply Minister Nadendla Manohar introduced the media to the decisions made by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the meeting.

The Cabinet issued a green signal to 28 major investment proposals recommended by the National Investment Promotion Commission, collectively involving more than Rs 350,000 crore investments and generated nearly 41,000 jobs across the state.

Major approvals related to Deccan Fine Chemicals, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Blue Jet Healthcare, Jupiter Renewables and PUR Energy, jointly invested Rs 92.46 crore and created 7,766 jobs; Ministers said Mohan Spintex and ATC Tires AP Pvt Ltd invested Rs 2,261 crore with 2,125 jobs, while WingTech Mobile Communications invested Rs 1,061 crore in mobile phone manufacturing, generating more than 10,000 jobs.

Daikin India will expand operations with an investment of Rs 2,475 crore and create 5,150 new jobs, they said. Sensorem Photonics India will commemorate Andhra Pradesh’s entry into semiconductor manufacturing, creating 622 skilled jobs. Quantum Valley Project MOUS with IBM, TCS and L&T was approved to position Andhra Pradesh as a center for technological innovation.

The cabinet also approved special incentive packages for multiple industrial units, including Ramabhadra Industries and Aleap India, and allowed land allocation for new solar, wind and hybrid energy projects proposed by Bondada Engineering, Amplus Energy and Deshraj Solar Energy, adding Rs 1.5 crore to clean energy investment.

The cabinet cleared major hotel projects to enhance tourism visakhapatnam and Tirupati, during which Varun Hospitality redeveloped the Taj Mahal Gateway into a five-star luxury hotel and IT space for Rs 899 crore. Shravanthi Hotels & Resorts will build a group of IBIS and Novotel Hotels in Tirupati, with $3.27 billion in investment and Ultimate Resorts LLP in Bangladesh will invest Rs 15 billion in a 5-star resort near Tirupati.

In addition, the Cabinet approved the establishment of the Indian Lawyer Council Trust in Amalawati International Legal Education and Research (IIULER). This high-standard law university will retain 20% of seats for Andhra Pradesh students.

A further nod was to establish a headquarters for BR Ambedkar Open University near Eluru to meet distance education needs; Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University headquarters was relocated to Rajamahendravaram, focusing on Telugu language and cultural studies; and to create 2,260 special education teacher positions in support of the Supreme Court orders to support inclusive education for students with disabilities.

The national cabinet has approved various renewable energy proposals, including the Rs 9,000 crore solar project conducted by Bondda Engineering in Ananthapuramu and Sri Sathya Sai areas, and the transfer of Rs 2,92 crore wind energy projects to Deshraj Solar Energy Pvt Ltd.

Adani Green Energy approved a 1000MW pumped storage hydropower project at Adani Green Energy in YSR. Infrastructure approval also includes allocating Nellore’s 615 acres of APIIC for the industrial park and giving free land grants to ESIC as a hospital in Kurnore.

The Cabinet endorsed significant governance changes, such as the transfer of five rule from Chittal to Anna Maya district to “simplify administrative efficiency”; 245 new posts were created in the Andhra Pradesh High Court to strengthen judicial management; and agreed to amend the rules to Sri thhota veeranjaneyulu, whose father died in AD 20222222222 to provide permanent government employment.
