AP requires civil defense organizations in each region

Vijayawada: There is a civil defense organization in every area of Andhra Pradesh. Currently, there is only one such agency in Visaka Patnam for regular civil defense simulation exercises where critical devices exist. This gives people some knowledge of how to deal with war-like emergencies to ensure their safety.

Any civil defense organization in the area works under the control of regional collectors, with a CDO (civil defense officer) following all the specialties and critical facilities in the area. Simulation exercises are performed regularly at these devices so that any emergency situation can be handled.

The center on Wednesday called for a nationwide civil defense simulation exercise, one of Visakhapatnam, one of the region, has been selected for the exercise due to its critical installation and offensive vulnerability.

Although tensions remained between India and Pakistan, India's retaliation against Pakistan-backed terrorists killed Indian tourists in Pahargam. The center provides states with freedom to select areas where simulated municipal defense drills will be conducted. AP doesn't seem to choose any other exercises besides Visakhapatnam.

Sources of the development said that in the next round of such exercises, some areas from the AP may practice these exercises, including Vijayawada, which includes installations such as Prakasam Barrage and Thermal Power Station.

Visakhapatnam Regional Fire Officer and Civil Defense Simulation Training DD Niranjan Reddy said: “We blow warning people about emergency situations. As part of the exercise, people are evacuated to designated hospitals. We hope to include some areas such as NTR and Tirupati in the next round.

Other SP GV Ramana Murthy led the civil defense simulation exercise at the railway station. SP A. Hanumanthu led the same situation at the APSRTC bus station.
