Appointed New RTI Commissioner – Hindu

The government has appointed four new commissioners as the state information commission under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Newly appointed RTI specialists include senior journalists Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy and PV Srinivasa Rao, while the other two are Mohsina Parveen and Deshala Bhoopal. Mr. Ayodhya Reddy is currently the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

The appointment of RTI Commissioner has been long. Recently, Chandrashekhar Reddy, a senior official at the Forest Services Agency of India, was appointed as Chief Information Commissioner. Several names the government sent to the governor have been pending for some clarification.

But Jishnu Dev Varma apparently cleared his name Monday morning and issued an order after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with the governor. Over the years, new RTI specialists have to face a huge backlog of applications due to staff exhaustion.
